Using a microscope it the OICE pool

In-house OICE users will mostly work with devices controlled by computers running a version of Microsoft Windows, currently mostly Windows 7. This might, however, change in the future to devices running other operating systems.

Microscope User Manuals

We will start delivering manuals for the new users for download here. These are property of the OICE and any form of sharing or distribution requires previously attained permission.

Leica SP5 II Fast Tandem Scanner CLSM. I want to download the pdf.

LaVision BioTec Ultramicroscope II. I want to download the pdf.

List and specifications of devices available in-house

A current list of available devices can be found on our homepage: http://www.oice.uni-erlangen.de/imaging-systems/oice-in-house.shtml Details such as the available filters and laser wavelengths can be found in this document (also linked on our homepage).

Working with Windows using your central OICE account

After starting up a microscope control PC running Windows, users will get the option to login with their central OICE account by pressing ALT-CTRL-Delete and typing in their username and password as usual. If another user is still logged on or was using the device without rebooting the PC, you have to click on “Other user” before typing your credentials.

Windows users will be presented with two automatically configured network shares to store their data. The first share (H:\) carries the user's login name and can be used to save data that should not be automatically uploaded to the OMERO.server, e.g. analysis results, source code, etc. The second share (X:\) is the OMERO-DropBox share, and files being saved there will - if the format is recognized - be automatically uploaded to the OMERO.server. For further information on the DropBox feature, please follow this link.
