Purpose
remus functions as the main storage provider for romulus and provides a 5.9 TiB array of 12 high IOPS Seagate Cheetah HDDs. Is is connected via Gigabit Ethernet and can this transfer up to 100 MiB per second. For seamless integration into the romulus operating system, the storage is connected via an iSCSI initiator iqn.2014-2.de.uni-erlangen.oice.n16000pro:iscsi.remus.raid0
in instant allocation mode.
Administration
remus runs ThecusOS, which provides a web interface on port 80. For security reasons, connections are only allowed from romulus, which can be easily implemented by an encrypted SSH tunnel. The web interface allows for creation of new and management of existing RAID arrays and iSCSI targets.
